Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is Investigating Intentionally Set Fire

Pocomoke City, Maryland – The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating an intentionally set fire in an occupied home in Pocomoke City, Maryland. The fire took place on October 10, 2022, and is still under investigation.

Officers from the Pocomoke Police Department were dispatched to a residence located at 601 Young Street in Pocomoke City, Maryland for a burglary at approximately 4:45 AM.

Upon arrival, police officers observed the rear of the structure was on fire, and it was spreading quickly.

The Pocomoke Volunteer Fire Company, along with firefighters from Stockton, Snow Hill, and New Church, Virginia, responded to the single-story residential home, where they extinguished the fire quickly. The home is owned by Cynthia Holden.

Fire investigators from the Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office were summoned to the scene and determined the fire was intentionally set.
