Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Recovers Large Amount of Stolen Jewelry

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Community Action Team (CAT) received credible information about several thefts, stolen jewelry and a burglary in the 6000 block of Steve Street in Salisbury, Maryland. CAT developed information that the suspect was Shawn Alexander of Salisbury, MD.

Information led CAT to Alexander taking the stolen jewelry and other items from the residence several times over the last month. It was determined that Alexander sold some of the stolen jewelry utilizing a stolen identification card.

Alexander then broke into the residence on June 7, 2021 and stole a large amount of jewelry. Members of CAT and the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division were able to locate Alexander at a hotel in Salisbury, MD. Alexander was arrested and charged with Burglary and other theft related offenses.

During Alexander’s arrest, stolen jewelry, controlled dangerous substance’s and paraphernalia were located. CAT has located a large amount of jewelry that has been recovered. Alexander was transported to WCDC where he is currently held on a $20,000 bond. This is an active investigation that will likely result in additional charges and additional arrests in the future.

Currently, Alexander is charged with Burglary 1st Degree, Theft $25,000-$100,000, Theft $1,500- to under $25,000, Theft Scheme $25,000-$100,000 and Theft Scheme $1,500-$25,000
