WICOMICO COUNTY EXECUTIVE JULIE GIORDANO ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF DONNA O’HARA AS DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Salisbury, MD – Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano is pleased to announce the appointment of Donna O’Hara as the Director of the Department of Human Resources. The Wicomico County Council confirmed O’Hara’s appointment during its January 3rd County Council meeting.

Mrs. O’Hara, a lifelong resident of Wicomico County, comes from a family of small business entrepreneurs in our local community. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care in 1992 and her Master’s in Education and Psychology in 1995, both from Salisbury University.

Ms. Donna O’Hara spent her early career as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, supervisor, and manager serving several of our local healthcare organizations while also teaching for SU. In 2001, she left the healthcare field to become a local small business owner, where she served as Vice President and Human Resource Administrator for 14 years.

Ms. O’Hara became a Certified Human Resource Professional in 2019 through the Society for Human Resource Management and earned her SHRM Senior Certified Human Resource Professional credential in February 2020. She comes to the County most recently from the Village of Hope, where she served as President and CEO. Mrs. O’Hara lives in Salisbury with her husband and has two adult sons who live in Wicomico County as well.
