Pocomoke City, MD – Pocomoke City Police Officers have arrested and charged two subjects from Virginia Beach, Virginia, with gun and drug violations following a traffic stop in Pocomoke City for speeding.
On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at approximately 9:38 PM, Officers from the Pocomoke City Police Department conducted a traffic stop on northbound Route 13 in the area of Sheephouse Road in Pocomoke, Maryland. Officers stopped a black Dodge Durango for a speeding violation.
During the officer’s contact with the driver, who was later identified as Shyheim Shamar Blount, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.


A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, which led to the recovery of a fully loaded Glock 19 semi-auto handgun, a .40 caliber Ruger semi-auto handgun, several boxes of ammunition, and several grams of marijuana.
Shyheim Shamar Blount and the passenger, William Henry Freeman III, both of Virginia Beach, Virginia, were arrested on handgun possession and possession of CDS marijuana.

Blount was held on no bond and later transported to the Worcester County Jail. Blount was found to have an active outstanding arrest warrant for must-appear traffic violations out of Worcester County, Maryland.
Freeman was held on a $5,000 bond and later transported to the Worcester County Jail.
All subjects mentioned in this press release are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
