Three People Arrested for Drug and Firearms Related Charges in Salisbury Maryland

Salisbury Police arrest three suspects for Drug and Firearms related charges. Earlier in May of 2022 members of the Salisbury Police Department received information from concerned members of the community about narcotics transactions allegedly taking place in and around the 700 block of S. Division Street. SPD’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) began to investigate the matter.

As the investigation unfolded, members of the CRU developed additional information causing them to present an application for a search and seizure warrant to a judge of the Circuit Court for a residential dwelling within the 700 block of S. Division Street.

The search and seizure warrant was signed and on May 17, 2022 at approximately 3:16 in the afternoon, members of the Salisbury Police Tactical Unit, along with members of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team, served the warrant on the residence.

As a result of the search and seizure warrant, police personnel located and recovered a loaded, semi-automatic handgun, ammunition, over 300 grams of marijuana, and paraphernalia all consistent with the intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances.

At the time of the search and seizure warrant, officers located 20-year-old Derrick Townsend, 19-year-old Joseph Bradley, and 19-year-old Marcel Garrett within the residence. All three men are under the age of 21 years and are prohibited from possessing a regulated firearm.

Mr. Townsend, Mr. Bradley, and Mr. Garrettwere each arrested without incident transported to the Salisbury Police Department, and later released to the Wicomico County Detention Center for initial appearances before a District Court Commissioner.

The Salisbury Police Department would like to thank members of the community and the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office for their partnership in this investigation.
