OCPD Drug Investigation Leads to Arrest of Drug Dealer and Roommate

Published

on

During the month of February, the Ocean City Police Departments (OCPD) Narcotics Unit initiated a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) distribution investigation into a local individual, Brandon Hudson, who was reportedly selling cocaine at various local bars in Ocean City, Maryland and from his residence.

Based on the three-month-long investigation, Ocean City Police Detectives obtained search warrants for Brandon Hudson’s person, Brandon Hudson’s vehicle, and his Ocean City residence.

During the morning hours of April 23, 2021, members of the Ocean City Police Narcotics Unit executed the three search warrants. The search resulted in the seizure of approximately 1 ounce of cocaine, 1/3 pound of marijuana, and almost $13,000 in cash. As a result, Hudson and his roommate, Erika Pletcher, were arrested and charged with the following:

  • Brandon Maurice Hudson: 32 years of age, Snow Hill, MD, possession with intent to distribute schedule I narcotic, CDS: possession- not marijuana, and CDS: Possession with intent to distribute. Hudson was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and held on a $10,000 bond.
  • Erika Christine Pletcher: 25 years of age, Ocean City, MD, CDS: possession- not marijuana. Pletcher was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and released on her own personal recognizance.

It should be noted that Hudson posted bond and has since been released from custody. It should also be said that this is not Hudson’s first time having involvement with the law. In 2013, Hudson was charged with 1st degree assault, second degree assault and carrying a dangerous weapon on his person stemming from a stabbing in Ocean City. In that case, Hudson pled guilty to the lesser charge of 2nd degree assault and served 15-days.

In 2010, Brandon Hudson was charged with 1st degree burglary and multiple drug offenses. In that case, Hudson pled guilty with agreed statement of facts to one drug offense. Brandon Hudson was sentenced to 2-years and served just 3-months and 26-days.

There are at least 3 other times that we found on Maryland Case Search where Brandon Hudson was charged with a drug offense in the Maryland Court System.
