On Saturday, November 07, 2020 at approximately 2pm, Officers from the Ocean Pines Police Department responded to the area of the South Gate pond in reference to a stolen purse. Officers initially observed a red Ford Escape with the front passenger side window smashed out.

The vehicle had been locked and parked in the parking lot of the South Pond walking path while the occupants left the area to walk their dog. The couple returned to find the passenger side window smashed and the female occupant’s purse, wallet, and cell phone had been removed from the vehicle. Inside the wallet were various credit cards, including an M&T Bank Visa card.

Officers located a witness who observed a W/M approximately 40 years of age wear a white tee shirt and blue jeans pull into the parking lot in a dark colored older model Ford Explorer twenty minutes prior to the Officers arrival.

Officers received information that the M&T Visa was used at Uncle Willie’s in Selbyville, Delaware at approximately 2:16pm by a white male fitting the witness description, approximately 40 years of age, white tee shirt blue jeans, a blue baseball hat, sunglasses and a dark in color gator type face covering.
