YOUTH SPRING SPORTS PROGRAMS OFFERED BY WICOMICO REC & PARKS
The Wicomico Recreation & Parks will host several sports opportunities for our young community members this spring. We're introducing various exciting programs, from flag football to golf, designed to develop skills and foster a love for sports.
New to Wicomico County, the NFL FLAG football program is set to kick off this spring. This no-contact version of the game is open to boys and girls of all skill levels, fostering the development of foundational football skills in a positive, inclusive setting. Priced at $65 per player, scholarship inquiries are highly recommended.
The FUNdamental Soccer is a six-week training program developed specifically for U7-U11 divisions. Tailored with specialized drills and games, the course emphasizes the basic principles of Soccer. For $45, participants also receive a soccer ball and the training.
Junior Girls Softball, a recreational league, extends an open invite to girls aged 4-16, regardless of their skill or experience levels. Free drop-in clinics are accessible to all participants. Pricing for this program is tiered, starting at $55 for Li'l Miss T-Ball, $60 for Ponytail Coach Pitch and Pre-Minor League, and $65 for Minor and Major Leagues.
The WYBL Skills Academy is also making a comeback this spring. Participants will be taught basketball essentials in a light-hearted, non-competitive atmosphere. The program will be split into two sessions - April 9-25 and May 7-23 - and costs $60 per participant.
Finally, the Junior Eastern Shore Golf League is a six-week program for young golfers aged 8 to 18. Utilizing local golf courses, participants will learn the game through instruction and competition in a fun, convivial atmosphere. The league fee is $55 per person plus a $5 course fee.
All program and league registrations can be completed online at www.WicomicoRecandParks.org or in person at the Wicomico Civic Center box office (open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday).
