WORCESTER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEEDS YOUR HELP LOCATING SUSPECT ENGAGED IN A SHOOTOUT IN POCOMOKE

Pocomoke City, MD - On the morning of January 5, 2025, two young men were involved in a gunfight at a convenience store in Pocomoke, Maryland.


Law enforcement was dispatched to Linden Avenue in Pocomoke, Maryland around 9:50 a.m., after receiving reports of the shooting.


Investigations indicate that Evrin Holden Jr., 18, approached a local convenience store where Jymere Williams, 19 was standing next to a vehicle in the parking lot.


During what appears to have been an altercation, both individuals brandished firearms and began shooting at each other.


In the midst of the gunfire, a bystander seated in the vehicle near Williams was caught in the crossfire. The individual attempted to flee but unfortunately sustained a gunshot wound.


He was airlifted to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland, for emergency treatment by Maryland Aviation Command.


Holden was later found at Tidal Health in Salisbury with a gunshot wound to his face. He was promptly transferred to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for further care.


Following the incident, detectives from the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation executed search warrants at two residences in Pocomoke, Maryland, which were linked to the shooting.


The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be provided as they become available.

As a result of this investigation, arrest warrants have been obtained by Detectives for the following individuals and charges:


Evrin Holden Jr.

  • Attempted 1st Degree Murder
  • Two Counts of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder
  • Two Counts of Assault in the First Degree
  • Two Counts of Assault in the Second Degree
  • Two Counts of Reckless Endangerment
  • Use of a Firearm during a Crime of Violence
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Minor


Jymere Williams

  • Attempted 1st Degree Murder
  • Attempted 2nd Degree Murder
  • Assault in the First Degree
  • Assault in the Second Degree
  • Use of a Firearm during a Crime of Violence
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Minor
  • Loaded Handgun on Person
  • Handgun on Person


This investigation is still ongoing, and investigators are seeking the whereabouts of Mr. Jymere Williams.
