WOR-WIC TO HOST COMMUNITY ARTS SHOWCASE
Salisbury, MD - Wor-Wic Community College is all set to host a community arts showcase on Thursday, Sept. 19. This lively and enriching event will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on the college campus located at the intersection of Route 50 and Walston Switch Road in Salisbury.
The showcase promises an evening filled with performances and exhibits by proficient local creators. The line-up includes accomplished individuals such as writer and illustrator Bryan Collier, painter Patrick Henry, serigraph artist Erick Sahler, decoy maker Rich Smoker, and manga artist Diontraye Bratten.
Other attractions of the event will include performances by the Eastern Shore Ballet Theatre, the Heart & Sole step team, and the Salisbury Children's Choir.
Dr. Tiffany Kotra-Loos, one of the event organizers, believes that this is a remarkable opportunity for the community to comprehend and appreciate the varied expressions of art. She said, "This is a celebration of our Eastern Shore community and all of its richness."
The arts showcase event is free to attend and no registration is necessary. The event is part of several weeks of celebration leading up to the inauguration of Deborah Casey, Ph.D. The organization of the event was assisted through a grant from the Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council, awarded by the Maryland State Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
