WOR-WIC COMMUNITY COLLEGE RECEIVES A GRANT TO ENHANCE SECURITY ON CAMPUS

Salisbury, MD - In an effort to enhance the safety of its students, faculty, and staff, Wor-Wic Community College has recently received a substantial grant from the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC). The grant, totaling $262,500, was awarded under MHEC's Campus Safety Program.
This funding will primarily be used to improve access control at campus building entrances and to replace several video surveillance cameras, thereby strengthening the existing safety measures. Jennifer A. Sandt, Vice President for Administrative Services, expressed gratitude for the grant's approval, emphasizing its critical role in enhancing campus security. She stated, "We are thankful to MHEC for the grant, which will significantly help improve the security systems in our institution."
Dr. Sanjay Rai, Secretary of MHEC, highlighted the importance of supporting educational institutions. He remarked, "MHEC is committed to addressing the public safety needs of Maryland's institutions. It is essential that we continue to support and uplift our higher education institutions. Our goal is to ensure that students, faculty, and staff can learn and work in safe environments."
