WOR-WIC COMMUNITY COLLEGE HONORS OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEES

Salisbury, MD - Wor-Wic Community College recently honored four employees with Excellence in Service Awards. The awards recognized those who have gone above and beyond to support students and the college's mission, foster a sense of camaraderie and positivity, contribute innovative ideas and play an active role in Wor-Wic's success. Winners were:

  • Melvin Cannon, information technology support technician
  • Bonnie Gerrity, human resources specialist
  • Ann D. McGee, administrative associate II, learning services
  • Kathy L. Turner, dean's associate, general education.

 

Each winner received a trophy and a cash award funded by the Wor-Wic Foundation. Nominees were also recognized for their contributions at the event, including:

  • Perry Angelonga, CEWD computer coordinator
  • Sabrina Bergbower, building attendant
  • Bruce Brimer, public safety supervisor
  • Allison M. Canada, senior director of procurement and auxiliary services
  • Carlie Chilton, dean's associate, health professions
  • Octavia Copeland, building attendant
  • Dr. Will Foxwell, academic advisor
  • Dr. Elizabeth C. Jones, director of institutional assessment and effectiveness
  • Jason M. King, director of veterans services
  • Marcus McBride, building attendant
  • Mark Miciotto, CEWD transportation coordinator
  • Kellie Patton, duplicating associate
  • Kimberly Richardson-Andrews, administrative associate I, student services
  • Penny S. Walters, mental health counselor
  • Angel West, procurement coordinator

 

Also honored at the ceremony were previously announced winners of the Faculty Excellence Award, Dr. Amy Oneal-Self, professor of English, and Mari Strauss, instructor of radiologic technology, as well as nominees:

  • Dr. Tracie Brady, associate professor of business
  • Juley Harper, associate professor of English
  • Dr. David Mongor-Lizarrabengoa, associate professor of Spanish
  • Alketa Nina, associate professor of mathematics
  • Melissa Reddish, associate professor of arts and humanities

 

"We are very proud of these accomplished colleagues," said Deborah Casey, Ph.D., president of Wor-Wic. "Every one of our staff, administrators and faculty should be recognized, because they are all working to serve our students and the community."
