WICOMICO COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE INVESTIGATING SERIOUS CRASH IN HERBON MARYLAND
Wicomico County, MD - On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 10:55 pm, Wicomico County Sheriff's Deputies and EMS Units were dispatched to the 7100 block of Rockawalkin Rd in Hebron, Maryland for a serious motor vehicle crash. Deputies arrived at the scene of the single-vehicle rollover-style crash and found the victim had been ejected from the vehicle, with life-threatening injuries. The victim was flown to a medical facility due to the severity of the trauma.
Due to the severe nature of the collision, the Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) was called to investigate the crash. Initial investigation revealed that the driver of a 2009 Nissan Altima lost control, left the roadway, and rolled over. The driver was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled. The driver was the only occupant of the Nissan.
Additional crash scene investigations will take place this morning. Beginning at 9:00 a.m., Rockawalkin Rd will be closed between North Tourmaline Dr and South Tourmaline Dr. The road is expected to be open by 12:00 p.m.
