WICOMICO COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE CHARGE MAN WITH ASSAULT AND FALSE IMPRISONMENT
Wicomico County, MD - On December 12, 2024, Wicomico County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to an incident involving a handgun.
A statement made by the victim to the deputies upon their arrival said that Richard Luffman, the suspect in this incident, obtained a handgun during a dispute and pointed it at the victim.
While the argument was going on, the victim was worried about their safety as well as the safety of other people who were present in the house.
Luffman allegedly restricted another victim in a room in the house and shoved the first victim into the closet.
The victim reported that Luffman made threats to kill not just the victim but also the other people living in the house. During the encounter, one of the victims obtained minor injuries.
The Delaware State Police were able to locate Luffman in Seaford, Delaware, and place him under arrest. He is currently being detained in custody by the Delaware Department of Corrections.
The following charges will be brought against Luffman in Wicomico County.
