WICOMICO COUNTY SET FOR GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY AT SALISBURY REGIONAL AIRPORT
Salisbury, MD-Wicomico County is set to host a landmark event: the official groundbreaking ceremony for Salisbury Regional Airport's runway extension on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
The ceremony will feature remarks from U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen, Governor Wes Moore, Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano, and Salisbury Regional Airport Director Tony Rudy.
The runway extension project results from seven years of meticulous planning and cooperation. Its successful execution will elevate Salisbury Regional Airport to a leading aviation hub on the Eastern Shore, accommodating larger aircraft and expanding commercial and freight services.
