WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON STRUCTURE FIRE DESTROYS SALISBURY HOME
Salisbury, MD-On June 26th, 2024, a fire broke out in the 4600 block of Coulbourne Mill Road, Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland. The occupant discovered the fire at approximately 2:36 PM in the afternoon.
The property, a single-family residence constructed of wood, suffered extensive damage due to the incident. The Fruitland Volunteer Fire Department was the primary responding team, and it took them 45 minutes to bring the situation under control. A total of 27 firefighters from local fire departments were dispatched to the scene.
The preliminary investigation reveals that the fire started on the side deck of the house, likely due to discarded smoking materials. The smoke alarm in the house was functioning correctly at the time of the incident.
Sadly, the fire has resulted in significant financial loss for the homeowner. The structural damage to the property is estimated at $200,000, while the contents of the house that were destroyed in the fire amount to an additional $75,000 loss.
