VIRGINIA LAW ENFORCEMENT IS INVESTIGATING A MAN FOUND DECEASED IN WOODS NEAR VEHICLE FIRE
Accomack County, VA - Virginia law enforcement is currently investigating an incident that took place on December 15, 2024, at around 7:15 AM, where a subject was found deceased in the woods with apparent gunshot wounds. The Accomack County Sheriff's Office responded to assist with a vehicle fire on Green Hill Road in New Church, Virginia. The fire had not only consumed the vehicle but also spread to nearby vegetation.

Upon their arrival, deputies discovered a non-responsive male in a nearby wooded area. The man, identified as 30-year-old Warren Thomas Fosque III of Horntown, Virginia, had signs of gunshot wounds and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Fosque's body was then transported to the Norfolk Medical Examiner's Office, where an autopsy will be performed to definitively establish the cause of death.
This investigation has involved multiple local agencies, including the Virginia State Police, New Church Volunteer Fire Department, Oak Hall Rescue Inc., Virginia Department of Transportation, and the Accomack County Department of Public Safety.
