TWO SUSPECTS CHARGED AFTER VICTIM IN A WALKER WAS ASSAULTED AND ROBBED OF CELL PHONE
Cambridge, MD - A woman was taken into custody after an active arrest warrant had been issued against her for multiple charges, including Robbery.
The woman, identified as Shemalariya Ileashia Pinder, a 35-year-old resident of Cambridge, Maryland, was arrested by Cambridge Police Officers on November 8, 2024, around 7:45 in the evening.
After processing at the station, Pinder appeared before a District Court of Maryland Commissioner and was subsequently released on her personal recognizance.
Pinder is facing numerous charges. These include:
- Robbery
- Conspiracy Robbery
- Assault 2nd Degree
- Conspiracy Assault 2nd Degree
- Theft of $100 to Under $1,500
- Conspiracy Theft of $100 to Under $1,500
These charges stem from an incident on March 29, 2024, at the Bradford House, located in the 700 block of Race Street in Cambridge, Maryland.
On April 1, Cambridge Police Officers responded to an assault complaint at the same location. The incident involved the victim being assaulted and robbed in an elevator.
The officers reviewed the video of the incident, where a woman was seen blocking the elevator exit on the 4th floor.
This woman was recorded as physically assaulting the victim, who was using a walker. A second person, later identified as Pinder, also participated in the assault. The assault resulted in the victim being pushed out of the elevator and down to the ground.
Items were also thrown at the victim. The victim's cell phone was subsequently stolen during the incident.
The victim's account of the incident mirrored what was seen on the video. A person involved in the incident had been arrested promptly at the scene.
Following this, officers sought charges against Pinder through the District Court Commissioner.
