Millsboro, DE - On March 6, 2025, the Delaware State Police arrested Jerome Johnson, 52, from Rehoboth Beach, and Troy Sanders, 42, from Bridgeville, charging them with felony drug offenses.

While on patrol at around 9:43 p.m., members of the Sussex County Governor's Task Force observed a red Ford Mustang traveling eastbound on John J. Williams Highway, near Bay Farm Road.

Troopers noticed that the vehicle failed to signal appropriately when turning onto Bay Farm Road, prompting them to initiate a traffic stop.

In response, the Mustang pulled into a driveway on the 26000 block of Bay Farm Road, drove quickly through the yard, and came to an abrupt halt after hitting a tree.

The two occupants, Johnson and Sanders, attempted to flee the scene on foot but were quickly apprehended by the officers.

A further investigation revealed that Johnson had active warrants and a revoked driver's license.

A search of both suspects and their crashed vehicle uncovered approximately 3.87 grams of heroin and about 11.97 grams of crack cocaine, which led to the felony drug charges.

Following their arrest, both men were taken to Troop 4. Johnson was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a substantial cash bond of $35,501.

Sanders was also charged, with a secured bond set at $6,800.
