TRAVERS STREET HOME ENGULFED IN FLAMES
Cambridge, MD-On March 22, 2024, at 6:13 PM, Rescue Fire Company was called to a reported house fire in the 1000 block of Travers Street, Cambridge, in Dorchester County, Maryland.
Firefighters battled the fierce fire for a grueling hour before bringing the incident under control. Two alarms were triggered during the incident, and the scene saw a massive response involving 50 brave firefighters.
Unfortunately, one firefighter suffered non-life-threatening burns during the operation and was promptly transported to Tidal Health in Salisbury, Maryland, for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
A neighbor first discovered the fire and promptly raised the alarm. The flames are thought to have originated from the first-floor utility room, although the actual cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The fire caused a staggering loss of $350,000 to the structure alone and another estimated loss of $50,000 to the contents within.
