TRAPPE MAN CHARGED WITH DUI IN CAMBRIDGE MARYLAND
Dorchester County, MD-On October 26, 2024, local law enforcement officials reported that a traffic stop was executed due to a stop sign violation on Goodwill Ave at Washington St in Cambridge, Maryland. The driver of the vehicle in question was identified as Nicholas Lawrence Reiher, 50, of Trappe, MD.
Once Cambridge Police Department (CPD) Officers made contact with Mr. Reiher, they noted signs that he may be under the influence of alcohol.
Officers reported detecting the smell of alcohol emanating from the vehicle, which further raised their suspicions. Mr. Reiher complied when asked to perform a Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST), further reinforcing these initial suspicions.
Unfortunately, Reiher could not successfully complete the SFST. As a result, he was placed under arrest and transported to CPD for additional processing. Following his arrest, Reiher was issued multiple traffic citations and was subsequently released.
Reiher was charged with Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol, Attempting to Drive While Under the Influence of Alcohol, Display of Expired Registration, Speeding Beyond a Reasonable Limit, Driving While Impaired by Alcohol, Failing to Obey a Properly Placed Traffic Control Device, and Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign.
