TOWN OF OCEAN CITY MUNICIPAL ELECTION BEING HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024

Ocean City, MD -  The Town of Ocean City is holding the municipal election in conjunction with federal and state elections on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center. Registered Ocean City voters are able to vote in both elections which will be conducted independently. Voters must sign in at both the municipal and the federal/state registration desks that day.


The mayoral seat and four council seats are up for election this year to include the seats of current Council Members Peter Buas, Tony DeLuca, John Gehrig, and Frank Knight. Candidates for Council are Tony DeLuca, Tony DeSanctis, John Gehrig, Denis Jenkins, George Leukel, Jake Mitrecic, and Larry Yates. Candidates for Office of the Mayor are Peter Buas and Rick Meehan.


Those who want to vote by absentee ballot must submit an application by 4:30 p.m. on November 4, 2024. Applications can be dropped off or mailed to Board of Supervisors of Elections of Ocean City, c/o the Office of the City Clerk, 301 N. Baltimore Avenue, Ocean City, Maryland, 21842. The Town is offering free bus service for all users on Election Day. The "no-fare" policy for buses and ADA service will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. The Coastal Highway "Beach Bus" will run every 30 minutes.


ADA service is available to qualified individuals during the same days and hours that the "Beach Bus" service is in operation, but 24-hour advanced trip reservations are required. Bus stops closest to the Ocean City Convention Center can be found on southbound Coastal Highway at 41st and northbound Coastal Highway at 39th and 42nd streets.
