Ocean City, Maryland - Ocean City is all set for another significant transformation, rolling out the next phase of the important Baltimore Avenue Corridor Project. The project, focused on Baltimore Avenue between 15th and 33rd Street, is scheduled to begin at the beginning of September, with work planned for Mondays to Thursdays each week, weather permitting.

The first phase will see the Public Works Department concentrate efforts on the southbound lane side of Baltimore Ave, from 33rd Street working southbound. This includes the replacement of sewer maintenance hole lids. Once this phase is completed, work will transition to the northbound lane of Baltimore Ave, from 15th to 33rd Street.

The project also includes improvements to the sidewalk on the east side of Baltimore Avenue, from 26th to 33rd Street. This initiative is focused on ensuring all sidewalks are ADA-compliant, fostering a more inclusive environment for all residents and visitors.

The final phase of this multifaceted project involves milling and resurfacing Baltimore Ave. As with other phases, this is weather-dependent and will typically occur from Monday to Thursday.

This phase is slated to begin on Monday, October 14, 2024. Residents and travelers should expect the milling and resurfacing to progress in approximately four-block-long intervals. During this time, the affected blocks will restrict north and southbound traffic.

While the project is underway, residents and visitors can use alternative routes. If not, allowing additional travel time to your commute would be prudent. Everyone must remain attentive and maintain a slow driving speed when traveling within a construction zone.

This meticulously planned project represents the Town of Ocean City's commitment to improving the quality of life and the overall experience of this charming city. The Baltimore Avenue Corridor Project is not just roadwork but a vision for a better, safer, and more accessible Ocean City.
