Sharptown, MD - On June 13, 2024, at approximately 8:10 P.M., a devastating structure fire occurred in the 11000 block of Tower Hill Lane in Sharptown, Wicomico County, Maryland. The property, a sizable residential entity spanning approximately 5,000 square feet, was destroyed.

There were no reported injuries to the occupants or firefighters; however, sadly, the fire caused the loss of two family pets. The fire displaced the family, necessitating intervention from the American Red Cross to provide assistance. The loss is estimated at over $1,000,000 in damage.

A passerby initially discovered the fire. The Sharptown Volunteer Fire Department responded promptly, activating two alarms and deploying 80 firefighters to the scene. Despite their efforts, it took approximately 6 hours to bring the fire under control.
