THREE SUSPECTS CHARGED FOLLOWING A TRAFFIC STOP BY WICOMICO COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
Wicomico County, MD-On November 7, 2024, a routine traffic stop led to two subjects being arrested and a third being charged by citation by the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division. The two individuals who were arrested had outstanding warrants and were also charged with drug offenses.
The Sheriff's Office charged three individuals following a traffic stop on Rt. 13 N/B and Broad Street in Salisbury, Wicomico, Maryland.
The suspects were identified as Jasmen Aven Merritt (33), Briana Day Graves (41), and Gabriella Marie Blades (29). The driver of the vehicle, initially identified himself as "James Merritt," but was later identified as Jasmen Merritt, who had provided the deputies with a false identity to avoid identification.
After successfully identifying Merritt's real identity, it was discovered that he was wanted on a Bench Warrant for failing to appear in Dorchester County District Court.
Another occupant in the vehicle, initially gave a false name but was later identified as Gabriella Marie Blades. Blades, similar to Merritt, had provided a false identity to the deputies. She had a total of (9) nine outstanding warrants for failing to appear in Somerset County District Court.
The third passenger, Briana Graves, received a criminal citation and was released from the scene.
A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed the presence of CDS paraphernalia and a small amount of suspected crack cocaine.
As per Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, Merritt and Blades are facing multiple charges, including possession of cocaine, providing a false identity to avoid apprehension or prosecution of crime, and obstructing and hindering a police investigation. Graves has been charged with possession of CDS Paraphernalia.
