Thomas Wilson Berry III, affectionately known as Tommy by friends and family, was a beacon of service and dedication, epitomizing the essence of public service and its sacrifices. Tommy tragically lost his life on Tuesday afternoon, August 13, 2024, in a post that was published here on Eastern Shore Undercover's social media pages while assisting a motorist involved in a vehicle crash.

The incident, which transpired on the U.S. 9/Lewes-Georgetown Highway, remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police.

In addition to his role as a logistics technician for the County's Emergency Medical Services division, Tommy was an avid volunteer firefighter with the Georgetown and Ellendale fire companies.
