SUSPECTS STEAL OVER $2300 WORTH OF UNDER ARMOUR MERCHANDISE AND LEAD LAW ENFORCEMENT ON A TWO-COUNTY PURSUIT
Worcester County, MD - On November 7, 2024, several individuals were arrested following a theft incident at the Under Armour Outlet Store in West Ocean City Outlets, which resulted in a police pursuit that spanned two counties.
The incident began when Under Armour store employees noticed several individuals stealing merchandise from the store. A Worcester County Deputy spotted the suspect vehicle attempting to flee the scene, setting off a pursuit that ultimately led to the capture of the suspects.
One of the suspected shoplifters, Jakhai Nathan Theodore Woodard, exited the fleeing vehicle in the Town of Berlin and attempted to evade arrest on foot.
Officers from the Berlin Police Department and the Maryland State Police were able to locate and apprehend Woodward. Upon his arrest, officers discovered he was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), with enough quantity to believe it was intended for distribution, further escalating the charges against him.
The remaining four occupants of the suspect vehicle fled the area and led law enforcement on a pursuit through Worcester County and into Wicomico County.
The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office deployed stop sticks, making the vehicle disabled at Airport Road in Salisbury, MD. Authorities arrested the remaining occupants with the help of the Berlin Police Department, Maryland State Police, Fruitland Police Department, and the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.
