SUSPECT IN OCEAN CITY TRIPLE STABBING FOUND GUILTY AND GIVEN 20-YEAR SENTENCE

Ocean City, MD - A comprehensive investigation into a violent stabbing that shocked the Ocean City community has come to a resounding conclusion. Paul Baynard, a 26-year-old resident of Ridgely, Maryland, has been found guilty of first-degree assault in the 2022 triple stabbing.


The incident took place on June 20, 2022, at the intersection of Wicomico Street and Atlantic Avenue (Boardwalk) in Ocean City, Maryland.


Following a brawl between two groups, Ocean City police responded to a distressing scene where three individuals were discovered with stab wounds. Thanks to the quick response of the Ocean City Emergency Medical Services personnel, these individuals received immediate life-saving medical care and were swiftly transported to various hospitals. The victims thankfully made full recoveries.


The Ocean City police carried out an extensive investigation using several tools, including surveillance footage, social media platforms, and witness accounts, which pointed to Baynard as the key suspect.


Baynard was the primary assailant in the triple stabbing, and after further investigation, he was charged with multiple counts of attempted murder, assault, and reckless endangerment. He was brought to trial before the Honorable Beau Oglesby, who sentenced him to 20 years of incarceration, suspending all but 10 years. Baynard is also mandated to three years of supervised probation upon release.


This case represents the collective efforts of the Ocean City Police Department, the Criminal Investigation Division, the Ocean City Fire Department, and the medical teams who treated the victims. The community's unyielding support was paramount in aiding the pursuit of justice.
