SUSPECT ARRESTED IN SEAFORD HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

Seaford, DE - Delaware State Police Homicide Detectives have announced the arrest of 23-year-old Johnathan Dugazon of Seaford, Delaware, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred earlier this month in Seaford, Delaware.
Incident Overview
On March 12, 2025, at approximately 4:24 p.m., officers from the Seaford Police Department and Delaware State Police responded to a reported shooting at Nutter Park, located in the 700 block of Collins Avenue within Seaford city limits.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 23-year-old Schweitzer Dessin suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were initiated, and Dessin was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Three additional individuals-two men aged 19 and 21, along with another 23-year-old man-sought treatment at area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries related to the shooting.
Due to the severity of the incident, the Seaford Police Department requested the assistance of the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit to lead the investigation.
Arrest of Suspect
Through investigative efforts, Delaware State Police Homicide Detectives identified Dugazon as the primary suspect in the shooting.
On March 24, 2025, officers from the Seaford Police Department arrested Dugazon without incident. He was subsequently transported to DSP Troop 5 for processing.
Charges Filed
Dugazon has been charged with the following crimes:
- Murder 1st Degree (Felony)
- Attempted Murder 1st Degree (Felony)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Possession of a Firearm/Destructive Weapon If Previously Convicted of a Violent Felony (Felony) - 5 counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)
- Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Felony) - 3 counts
- Noncompliance With Conditions of Recognizance Bond or Conditions (Felony) - 2 counts
Following his arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 2, Dugazon was remanded to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $2,156,000 cash bond.
