SUSPECT ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH THEFT AT TARGET

Stevensville, Md - Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to the Stevensville Target on March 19, 2025, at approximately 6:19 PM following reports of a theft.


Upon arrival, they met with the store's loss prevention staff, who had detained an individual suspected of shoplifting.


The suspect, identified as Kerie Bennett, allegedly concealed merchandise in a Target bag and exited the store without paying for the items. Surveillance footage reviewed by deputies confirmed the incident.


According to loss prevention staff, Bennett has been implicated in five prior theft incidents at the same location, with the earliest occurring in October 2024. Surveillance footage from these previous incidents was also provided to deputies as part of the investigation.


After reviewing the evidence, Bennett was placed under arrest.


Bennet has been charged with the following:

• Theft Less Than $100 (x6)

• Theft Scheme $100 < $1,500
