STRUCTURE FIRE REPORTED IN HURLOCK, MARYLAND

Hurlock, MD - On Saturday, March 22nd, at approximately 2:08 p.m., a structure fire was reported at 4700 block of Williamsburg Church Road in Hurlock, Dorchester County, Maryland. The incident involved a modular home. While the fire was contained to the exterior, it caused an estimated structural loss of $1,000.00.


The fire was discovered by a neighbor, who promptly reported the situation and began extinguishing the flames with a bucket of water before emergency services arrived.


The primary responding agency, the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company, dispatched seven firefighters to the scene. First responders took three minutes to bring the fire under control.


The fire is believed to have originated from a cardboard box on the rear deck of the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
