STRUCTURE FIRE DAMAGES AUTO SALVAGE LOT IN CAMBRIDGE

Cambridge, MD - A structure fire severely damaged a steel pole building at Threesome Auto Salvage, located at 5137 Cordtown Road in Cambridge, Dorchester County, Maryland on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident resulted in an estimated loss of $180,000, including both structural and content damages.
Incident Overview
The fire occurred in an approximately 30' x 50' steel pole building primarily used as a garage bay. The blaze was discovered by an employee on site, who immediately alerted authorities. Rescue Fire Company was the primary responding department, supported by three alarms and a total of 60 firefighters.
Firefighters worked diligently to bring the fire under control within 45 minutes of arrival. No injuries were reported during the response.
Preliminary Cause
Initial investigations indicate that the fire was accidental, originating in the garage bay. The cause was related to the dismantling of a junk automobile, a regular operation at the salvage facility.
