Wicomico County, MD - On July 26, 2024, we concluded our fifth annual Law School Summer Camp. Ten campers ages ten to thirteen years old had an action-packed week where they learned not just about the law, but about the dedicated public servants serving on the front lines of the criminal justice system.

Senior Assistant State's Attorney Patrick Gilbert, in partnership with the Wicomico County Detention Center, the Circuit Court for Wicomico County, the Maryland Natural Resources Police, the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, the Maryland State Fire Marshal, and the Maryland State Police - Aviation Division, led the instruction of our campers who took field trips to see first-hand the ways in which we come together to protect the public and effect justice.

Sr. ASA Gilbert said, "The opportunity to introduce campers to our system of law and government, and for the campers to meet the men and women responsible for bringing that system to life in our community, is so exciting. We are thrilled and honored to be able to host such a unique program and are grateful to everyone who made this possible."

State's Attorney Jamie Dykes expressed gratitude to our campers' parents and to our summer camp partner organizations, as well as to the Wicomico County Board of Education for providing transportation, to Together Café, Johnny's Sub Shop and Taylor's BBQ for donating lunches, and to all who came together to inspire our next generation of leaders.
