SINGLE-VEHICLE CRASH IN SELBYVILLE CLAIMS THE LIFE OF A BISHOPVILLE WOMAN

Selbyville, DE - The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred on the evening of Tuesday, March 26, 2025, in Selbyville. The incident resulted in the death of a 27-year-old woman from Bishopville, Maryland.
At approximately 8:51 p.m., a Hyundai Sonata was traveling westbound on Cypress Road near Daisey Road. Preliminary findings indicate that the vehicle failed to navigate a curve, veered off the north side of the road, and struck a tree with its right rear. After the initial impact, the vehicle continued westbound and collided with a second tree.
The driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries but later succumbed to those injuries. Her identity is currently being withheld pending notification of her next of kin.
Cypress Road remained closed for an extended period while investigators processed the scene. The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating the incident.
