SHOOTING IN ONANCOCK CLAIMS THE LIFE OF A YOUNG MAN
Onancock, VA - On February 13, 2024, at 8:32 p.m., a call was received by the Accomack County Sheriff's Office, alerting them to shots being fired in the 26000 block of Stumpy Lane in Onancock, Virginia.
Upon their arrival, deputies found a young man, unresponsive and suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The victim was later identified as 26-year-old Rashaun Anthony Brown, a resident of Onancock, Virginia. Unfortunately, despite the rapid response, Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body has been transferred to the Norfolk Medical Examiner's Office to ascertain the official cause of death.
The Accomack County Sheriff's Office is committed to conducting a thorough investigation, backed by the combined efforts of the Onley Police Department, the Melfa Volunteer Fire Department, and the Accomack County Department of Public Safety.
