SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATING A FATAL CRASH IN EDEN MD

Eden, MD - On September 2, 2024, at approximately 10:08 P.M., EMS personnel and Deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the intersection of Cottman Road and Residential Drive in Eden, Maryland, for a very serious single motor vehicle crash.

Due to the severity and circumstances of the event, the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Collision Reconstruction Unit, with support from the Criminal Investigation Division, was deployed to the scene. The initial investigation indicated that the vehicle was heading south on Cottman Road when it did not successfully make a turn.

As a result, the vehicle exited the road and struck two sizable trees before coming to a rest. The driver and a rear-seat passenger were transported to Tidal Health to receive necessary medical attention.

Sadly, the front-seat passenger, who was ejected from the vehicle due to the impact, succumbed to their injuries. The Sheriff's Office Collision Reconstruction Unit is thoroughly investigating the particulars of this crash.

The investigation remains open and continuous at this time. Anyone who might have witnessed the unfortunate event or possesses any information related to the case is strongly encouraged to come forward.
