SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES ARREST SUSPECT AND RECOVER LOADED FIREARM IN ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

Grasonville, MD - On the morning of March 18th, 2025, at approximately 6:21 AM, deputies from the Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff executed a search and seizure warrant at a residence located in the 400 block of Melvin Avenue in Grasonville, MD. This operation was part of an ongoing investigation into an assault incident.


During the execution of the warrant, deputies encountered 18-year-old Ryan Bless and secured him at the scene. A search of the residence resulted in the discovery of a loaded shotgun.


Following this discovery, Bless was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:


  • Possession of a rifle/shotgun by a disqualified person
  • Illegal possession of ammunition
  • First-degree assault
  • Second-degree assault
  • Reckless endangerment


Bless was subsequently processed, and held without bond. Bless was transported to the Queen Anne's County Detention Center, where he awaits further legal proceedings.


Sheriff Gary Hofmann addressed the incident, stating, "My office remains committed to a zero-tolerance policy regarding illegal firearms, drugs, and criminal activity in Queen Anne's County. Our deputies are vigilant in removing dangerous individuals from our neighborhoods, and we will continue to take proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents."
