SEAFORD MAN ARRESTED ON FELONY GUN AND DRUG CHARGES

Seaford, DE - Delaware State Police have arrested a 37-year-old Seaford, Delaware resident, William Nieberg, on a host of felony charges, mostly related to firearms and drugs.


On February 6, 2025, a joint operation was conducted in which the Sussex County Drug Unit, working alongside the Sussex County Governor's Task Force, executed a search warrant at a home on the 10000 block of Pit Road in Seaford, Delaware.


This move followed a thorough investigation into Nieberg's activities, specifically relating to the suspected manufacture and distribution of illegal drugs from the same property.


Before the execution of the search warrant, detectives witnessed and followed a Hummer H3, operated by the accused, as it departed from the residence. They stopped the vehicle and detained Mr. Nieberg.


The subsequent search of the premises revealed an array of incriminating evidence. Among the items uncovered were a 9mm handgun with its serial number removed, an ample supply of ammunition, an estimated 3,821.55 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, and equipment designed for the cultivation of marijuana.


Upon the discoveries, Mr. Nieberg was taken into custody and transported to Troop 4. After being charged with the following listed offenses, he was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and later committed to Sussex Correctional Institution. His initial cash bond is set at $153,100.


The charges include possession of a firearm during a felony, two counts of possessing a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, possession of an untraceable firearm, possession with an intent to deliver a controlled substance (Tier 2), possession of a controlled substance (Tier 2), operating a clandestine laboratory, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
