SALISBURY ZOO EARTH DAY EVENT PLANNED

Salisbury, MD - The Salisbury Zoo will host its annual Earth Day event on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free, family-friendly event will feature a variety of interactive activities, environmental education opportunities, and support for local vendors.

Sensory-Friendly Hour for Inclusivity

To ensure a welcoming environment for all attendees, the event will include a Sensory-Friendly Hour from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., in collaboration with the Salisbury University Psychology Department. This early hour is specifically designed for individuals with sensory sensitivities, providing a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere for participants to engage with exhibitors and vendors before the main event begins.  

Resources from KultureCity will be available throughout the day, including sensory bags equipped with noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools, and other calming materials. Attendees may pre-register for the Sensory-Friendly Hour to help maintain appropriate crowd levels by visiting the provided link.

Activities and Educational Opportunities  

The Earth Day event will offer numerous engaging and educational activities for families, children, and local residents, including:  

• Interactive Educational Booths
  • Learn about wildlife conservation and sustainable practices through presentations from local exhibitors.  
• Craft Vendors
  • Explore unique offerings such as pottery, jewelry, candles, paintings, wreaths, and more, created by local artisans.  
• Hands-On Nature Activities
  • Children can explore discovery boxes filled with nature-related activities, fostering a fun and educational environment.  

Throughout the day, visitors are encouraged to attend presentations near the Zoo's Education Center, focusing on conservation initiatives and the importance of protecting natural habitats, led by local environmental experts.  

Community Support and Vendor Opportunities

The event not only highlights environmental education but also promotes local artisans and businesses. Vendors are invited to participate and showcase their products or services.
