SALISBURY UNIVERSITY'S LEPRE AND WEER NAMED AMONG MARYLAND'S TOP 100 WOMEN

Salisbury, MD - In a remarkable achievement for Salisbury University, two of its distinguished leaders have been named among Maryland's Top 100 Women for 2025.

The Daily Record and Bridge Tower Media's prestigious list for this year includes SU President Carolyn Ringer Lepre and Dr. Christy Weer, dean of SU's Franklin P. Perdue School of Business.

Both leaders have previously had the honor of being part of this esteemed list, which underlines the contributions of women in Maryland through their leadership, community service, and mentorship. Lepre and Weer have been instrumental in strengthening Maryland's educational institutions and other sectors with their dynamism and dedication.

Since Lepre assumed office as SU's president in 2022, she has brought about several significant changes. Her efforts have been instrumental in initiating a formal graduate school, introducing new academic programs, and forging partnerships with NASA and the Maryland Army National Guard.

Furthermore, she has undertaken initiatives to enhance student accessibility and inclusion and promote environmental responsibility on campus.

Dr. Christy Weer, who earned her M.B.A. from SU in 1996, has been pivotal in the growth of the Perdue School's programs. The school's entrepreneurship programs have seen a substantial expansion under her leadership. She has also been proactive in involving the community in SU's initiatives and activities.

In recognition of their exemplary work and influence, both Lepre and Weer are set to be honored at an awards celebration scheduled for May 5, 2025, at Towson University.

This recognition undoubtedly brings great pride to Salisbury University, underscoring its commitment to excellence and leadership.
