SALISBURY, MD - On March 13, 2025, Tre Wallace, age 37, of Salisbury, Maryland, was convicted in the Circuit Court for Wicomico County on multiple charges, including Attempted Murder in the First Degree, two counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Murder in the First Degree, two counts of Stalking, Witness Intimidation, and additional related charges.
The trial, which lasted four days, was presided over by the Honorable S. James Sarbanes, Administrative Judge of the Circuit Court for Wicomico County.
Sentencing for Wallace has been postponed pending the completion of a pre-sentence investigation. Until sentencing, Wallace is being held in custody.
The charges stem from a one-month period in the fall of 2023 during which Wallace stalked the new boyfriend of his estranged girlfriend and plotted to harm him. The incident escalated on November 20, 2023, when Wallace enlisted the help of a family member to drive him to his estranged girlfriend's residence in a vehicle, he believed she would not recognize.
While driving past the residence, Wallace fired multiple shots at the couple using a handgun. A high-speed chase ensued as the boyfriend pursued Wallace's car for approximately five miles through Salisbury, Maryland.
Both vehicles exchanged gunfire during this pursuit. Following an investigation conducted by the Salisbury Police Department, charges were filed against Wallace. Once charged, Wallace attempted to tamper with witnesses and threaten those who were set to testify against him, adding further charges to the case.
Wicomico County State's Attorney Jamie L. Dykes condemned Wallace's actions in a statement, saying, "This senseless act of violence and subsequent efforts to tamper with witnesses to avoid accountability will not be tolerated in this County."
State's Attorney Dykes praised the Salisbury Police Department for their thorough investigation of the case, with particular recognition given to Detective Devin Fairman for his diligence and persistence.
Additionally, Senior Assistant State's Attorney Lauren Bourdon and Assistant State's Attorney Alexandra Stamnas were commended for their advocacy throughout the trial.
