SALISBURY MAN ARRESTED BY DELAWARE STATE POLICE FOLLOWING PURSUIT IN SEAFORD

Seaford, DE - Delaware State Police apprehended 28-year-old Steven McCormick from Salisbury, Maryland on charges of possessing illegal firearms and narcotics, following a police pursuit in Seaford, Delaware.
The incident unfolded on February 4, 2025, after 11 p.m. when the police were in pursuit of a Nissan Rogue that had previously escaped the Seaford Police Department. State troopers noticed the Nissan Rogue speeding on the eastbound side of the West Stein Highway. Efforts to stop the vehicle went in vain as it continued its reckless run.
The chase saw the Nissan Rogue drive recklessly through Seaford, Delaware, before colliding with a marked State Police Tahoe on Sussex Highway near Cannon Road, before traveling the wrong way down Sussex Highway.
The Nissan Rogue was finally stopped near Middleford Road, thanks to the use of stop sticks. The driver, identified as Steven McCormick, was subsequently arrested as a result of the police pursuit.
The authorities found illegal items in McCormick's possession, during a thorough search of the suspect and his vehicle. The items included a 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition, about 5.1 grams of heroin, close to 350.73 grams of marijuana, digital scales, and $476 in suspected drug money.
McCormick was then taken to Troop 5 where the charges were laid out, and he was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3. He was later remanded to Sussex Correctional Institution with a cash bond set at $238,506.
