ROAD RAGE INCIDENT ENDS WITH SUBJECT SPRAYED WITH PEPPER SPRAY

Milford, DE - Delaware State Police have arrested a 45-year-old man, identified as Jason Boyd, following a road rage incident that resulted in one individual sustaining minor injuries after being sprayed with pepper spray during a motor vehicle crash.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of March 4, 2025, when police received a call about a motor vehicle accident in the 700 block of Bay Road in Milford, Delaware.
Early investigations revealed that a 50-year-old man from Milford was driving a Honda Element on Bay Road near Jenkins Pond Road. Mr. Boyd, driving a Chevrolet Silverado, was reportedly tailgating the Honda.
The driver of the Honda abruptly hit the brakes, seemingly in response to being tailgated, causing the Silverado to rear-end the Honda.
After the crash, both drivers pulled over to I.G. Burton's parking lot to assess the damage. The situation escalated when the Honda driver approached the Silverado. At that point, Mr. Boyd allegedly sprayed the Honda driver with pepper spray.
The man was treated for minor injuries by Emergency Medical Services.
Police intervention led to the discovery of a canister of pepper spray, as well as an expired vehicle registration, inside the Chevrolet Silverado.
Mr. Boyd was charged and taken into custody without any issues. The charges include 2nd Degree Assault with a Disabling Chemical Spray-a felony-and Expired Registration.
He was subsequently released on a $2,525 unsecured bond after his arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 2.
Additionally, the Honda driver received a citation for Reckless Driving.
