PRINCESS ANNE WOMAN ARRESTED FOR MAKING THREATS TOWARDS SCHOOL STAFF
Princess Anne, MD - A tense day unfolded in Somerset County as a Princess Anne, MD woman was arrested and charged for making threats of mass violence against staff at a local elementary school.
The Somerset County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division arrested Michelle Lynn Bailey of Princess Anne, Maryland, in response to several threatening phone calls she made to the Princess Anne Elementary School earlier in the day.
On March 26, 2024, at around 10 a.m., Deputies were dispatched to the school following reports of Bailey's threats. Upon investigation, detectives discovered that Bailey was irate over a truancy letter she had received from the school, which had prompted her to unleash a torrent of verbal abuse toward two separate school employees over the phone.
Driven by her unruliness, both employees ended the calls with Bailey. However, when a staff member attempted to call Bailey back to address her concerns regarding the truancy issue, the situation escalated further. Bailey, still in a state of anger, threatened to come to the school and "kill everyone."
Authorities swiftly responded, located and arrested Bailey at her residence in Princess Anne. During her arrest, Bailey admitted to making the threats against the school staff.
Following her arrest, Bailey was transported to the Somerset County Sheriff's Office for processing. She made her initial appearance before the District Court Commissioner, who deemed Bailey a significant enough threat to deny her bail, ordering her to be held in the Somerset County Detention Center.
