POLICE NEED YOUR HELP IDENTIFYING SUSPECTS OF MULTIPLE INCIDENTS IN CAMBRIDGE
Cambridge, MD - A series of car thefts kept the Cambridge Police Department on their toes in the overnight hours of February 27-28, 2024. The initial call came in around 10:35 PM on February 27, 2024, when the police were called to investigate a suspicious white work van parked on Somerset Ave in Cambridge, Maryland, which had left the area by the time officers arrived.
The department was dispatched just after midnight, when officers responded to a report of suspicious activity on a property on Baycraft Ct in Cambridge, Maryland.
Surveillance footage (video included here) revealed five juveniles loitering on the premises. A resident found two of them trying to break into their vehicle and scared them away.

At around 1:35 AM, officers spotted four vehicles - a light blue Chrysler Town and Country Van, a green GMC Sierra Truck, a white work van, and a dark-colored Volvo - speeding north on Woods Rd in Cambridge, MD.
As these vehicles scattered at the Woods Rd traffic circle, officers pursued the white van and the Volvo, which eventually separated from each other.
A high-speed pursuit ensued on Chesapeake St, culminating in the arrest of a 15-year-old juvenile, who was driving the stolen white work van on Maces Lane at Washington St.
Later on that morning, police responded to a report of stolen vehicles from Lance Drive and Regulator Drive South, which turned out to be the other three vehicles they'd pursued earlier in the night.
Notably, all of these vehicles had their keys left inside by their owners.
Officers also are investigating calls in reference to vehicles being damaged and evidence of attempted break-ins in several city neighborhoods.
The stolen GMC Truck was located at Caribbean Ave later in the morning, but the investigation continues. Charges are pending as officers continue to investigate these incidents.
