POLICE ACTIVELY INVESTIGATING AN ARMED ROBBERY IN CAMBRIDGE

Cambridge, MD - On January 22, 2025, at around 7:18 pm, local law enforcement officials in Cambridge, Maryland, responded to a report of a robbery on the 400 block of Muir St.
The victim reached out to the officers, explaining they had been ambushed by an unidentified male suspect about half an hour prior near the crossroads of Academy St and Cedar St in Cambridge, Maryland.
As per the victim's account, the incident unfolded during a quiet walk home from the intersection of Race St and Cedar St. As soon as they reached the vicinity of Academy and Cedar St, a unknown individual rushed at them, issuing a threatening demand for all their money, pairing the demand with a threat that they would be shot if they refused.
Feeling threatened and fearing for their safety, the victim complied, handing over their personal items which included a cellphone, a lighter and an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect, upon acquiring the stolen items, quickly retreated, heading on foot down Cedar St in the direction of Race St.
The perpetrator has been described broadly as potentially falling into two ethnic categories: either African American or Hispanic. During the incident, he had his face concealed with a ski mask, and was wearing grey sweatpants, a black knit hat, a brown hooded sweatshirt, and blue shoes. Although the implied threat of a gun was present, no firearm was seen or brandished during the confrontation.
