PARKSLEY VIRGINIA MAN ARRESTED AT PUBLIC LIBRARY AND CHARGED WITH SEX OFFENSES

Accomack County, VA - The Accomack County Sheriff's Office have arrested and charged a man for attempting to meet a juvenile, who he was sending sexually explicit photos to.
The incident took place at the Eastern Shore Public Library in Parksley, Virginia on March 7, 2025, at around 3:03 p.m.
Upon arriving at the location, the deputies encountered an adult male who disclosed his purpose of meeting a juvenile female to whom he had sent the sexually explicit pictures. The involved male was later identified as 20-year-old Matthew Thomas, a resident of Parksley, Virginia.
According to the Sheriff's office, Thomas was apprehended at the library and was charged with the utilization of a computer for committing sex offenses against a minor.
As this investigation is ongoing, additional charges against Thomas may be brought forward. Currently, Thomas has been remanded to Accomack County Jail and his bond has been denied.
The Accomack County Sheriff's Office thanked the Parksley Police Department for their assistance on this case.
