OVERNIGHT MONDAY KENT COUNTY FIRE DESTROYS SHED AND CONTENTS

Chestertown, MD - On March 3, 2025, at approximately 12:33 AM, a structure fire broke out in the 21000 block of Kansas Avenue, in Chestertown, Kent County Maryland.
A shed located on the property was the center of the fire and unfortunately sustained significant damage. The fire reportedly caused an estimated $8,000.00 in damages to the shed and a further $2,000.00 to its contents.
The Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company was the primary fire department responding to the alarm. A total of 33 firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the fire under control in approximately 45 minutes. The blaze was first discovered by a neighbor, alerting the authorities and undoubtedly preventing further spread and damage.
The origin of the fire has been traced back to the interior of the shed, although the exact cause remains under investigation.
