OVERNIGHT CRASH IN WORCESTER COUNTY CLAIMS THE LIFE OF A POCOMOKE CITY MAN

Pocomoke, MD - On Sunday, February 16, 2025 in the overnight hours, a tragic single-vehicle accident in Worcester County resulted in the death of a Pocomoke City resident, according to Maryland State Police.
Forest Eugene Crippen III, 34 years of age, a passenger in a Honda Accord, was pronounced dead at the scene by local EMS personnel.
The driver, Yakia Shree Brittingham, 35 years of age, resident of Berlin, Maryland, survived the crash and was taken to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for treatment of her injuries.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack responded to the fatal accident, which occurred south of Blades Road on US Route 113. Initial investigations indicate that the vehicle was traveling southbound when it unexpectedly left the roadway and struck a tree.
While the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, law enforcement state that impairment may be be a contributing factor to the crash.
The road was temporarily closed due to the incident but has since been reopened. First Responders assisting with the crash included the Worcester County Sheriff's Office, Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Department, Pocomoke City Emergency Medical Services, and the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation into this fatal accident. Once their investigation is complete, they will submit their findings to the Worcester County State's Attorney's Office, which will determine whether charges will be filed.
