ORLANDO HILL SENTENCED TO 75 YEARS FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF A MINOR

Wicomico County, MD - On April 24, 2023, the Honorable Karen M. Dean, Associate Judge of the Circuit Court for Wicomico County, sentenced Orlando Hill, aged 45, of Salisbury, Maryland, to a total of seventy-five (75) years of incarceration. The sentence stems from two cases in which Hill sexually abused a minor.On November 30, 2022, a Wicomico County jury convicted Hill of Sexual Abuse of a Minor, Sexual Offense in the Second Degree, and three counts of Sexual Offense in the Third Degree.On April 14, 2023, Orlando Hill entered a plea agreement and was convicted of Rape in the Second Degree. From October of 2012 through October 2014, Hill sexually abused a minor who was in his care and custody. The victim was under the age of twelve at the time of the offenses.Hill committed his acts upon the minor with an accomplice. The accomplice has likewise been convicted following a jury trial, and is currently pending sentencing.Wicomico County State's Attorney (SA) Jamie L. Dykes said, "Far too many children in our community live the nightmare of sexual trauma at the hands of those who should love and care for them. The victim in this case exhibited tremendous courage in testifying at multiple trials. We are grateful for the investigators committed to this difficult work, the justice delivered by the jury's considered verdict and the Court's strong sentence."SA Dykes commended Sgt. J. Pruitt of the Maryland State Police, who was the lead investigator, and Child Protective Services for their work in the investigation.
